Riyadh Public Transit Visitor Center

The Riyadh Development Authority commissioned the Public Transit Visitors Center in Riyadh as a new destination for families and individuals to learn about the latest developments in the city’s public transportation project, in a context that weaves informational exhibitions with elements of entertainment for visitors of all ages. The Visitor Center has been created to educate, inform and entertain the citizens of Riyadh with information about the huge public transport development project underway in the city. Attending the VVIP opening of the center was Prince Faisal Bin Bandar, Governor of Riyadh.

The centre seeks to explain why Riyadh needs an integrated network of buses and metro, give an insight into the huge undertaking and challenges that the construction presents, and to showcase how the final system will operate, and give people a flavor of what to expect when the network commences operation.

The Center’s design combines static and interactive exhibits, includes large scale interactive physical models and numerous digital elements, and features full-sized metro train cars able to be boarded and explored by visitors, among other unique objects. Collaboration was responsible for full-service, including concept design and development, research and story, graphic design, project management, production and fit-out for the Center.
